TV back in caucus
PA Wellington The Government caucus will discuss the financial future of television again today, according to the Prime Minister (Mr Muldoon).
He said that he had studied television costs and where they could be cut. The principal decision facing the Government was whether to allow an increase in licence fees.

Journalists said that a private channel would destroy true complementary programming and would give the public less viewing choice.
“Because' of pressure for maximum viewer ratings, a privately owned channel could be forced to cater for the lowest possible denominator of viewer interest,” it said.
