Pitalua dominated the early stages, but Watt knocked him down with a left hook in the i seventh round, and gradually
took command until the re* feree stepped into save the 1 i Colombian from further purt* ishment. The bout was for the World' Boxing Council light-weight crown, vacated by Panama’s Roberto Duran, but the rival ! World Boxing Association ’ has no champion and Watt could soon be recognised as < undisputed king of this divi* sion.
