Support for tour
NZPA Agen, France| The president of the French Rugby Union Federation, Mr : Albert Ferrasse, has confirm- : ed his support for the controversial Spjringboks tour of i France, planned for Novem- 1 ber. ; Speaking on his return < from a visit to Guadeloupe in i the Caribbean, Mr Ferrasse ’ said that a world-wide outcry :
I against the tour in the past i few weeks had not changed his opinion, as long as the South African team was multi-racial. He said that in Guadeloupe the Government had demanded that rugby teams there should include seven or eight black or Coloured players in each side, a move which had proved very successful.
