Arthur Thomas letter

Sir, — As one who has attacked M. Creel on several occasions for his stands in these columns I was staggered to find myself agreeing totally with his letter today. The mist of suspicion and uncertainty surrounding the Thomas case is very disturbing and as M. Creel points out it is irrelevant whether one feels that he was guilty or not. There is sufficient doubt to justify a public inquiry so that any evidence overlooked, deliberately omitted or not gathered can be considered along with all the evidence already gathered. It is not enough that a hush-hush inquiry be made with the results kept secret. The time has come for the case to be cleared once and for all along with all its implications and possible scandals. — Yours, etc., STEPHEN PADDOCK. April 18, 1979.
