Haywrights, Ltd, has I agreed to sell two small de-; partment stores, in Napier and Dannevirke, to D.I.C.J Ltd. ; The managing director of [Haywrights (Mr G. R. Lawn)| I said that the stores have been | i sold on a going concern basis. [ . with ownership of both stores ■ changing on Monday. April| 1 30. All staff will continue toj jbe employed by the new; I owners. I Mr Lawn also said that ; since the sale of its WellingIron stores to James Smit>, | Ltd, the situation of the [stores in the Wellington reIgion had changed, and that [while the stores concerned [ are profitable units, it would I be difficult to service them as i effectively as previously. i D.I.C.. ’ with stores in the i North Island, was in a better I position to do so, and the ’moves were a logical exten[sion of their interests in the region.
