Yacht titles to Chch

Christchurch crews won all six classes at the South Island Trailer Yacht championships at Timaru during Easter week-end. Grant Obors was successful in. the Noelex contest, winning from Ray Shearer (Otago: and Bob Auton (Christchurch!. Auton suffered from a disqualification, a costly occurrence in a four-race series in which all platings counted.

The Hartley 16 division was won by Trevor Shapland, the runner-up being Tom Bracken (Timaru;. John Wilkinson finished ahead of two other Christ, church helmsmen, Murray Howell and John Turnbull, who were equal second in the Fan

6000 section. A former Leander Trophv holder. John Rountree, beat off the challenge of Graham Parrait (Christchurch) for the 7«0 class championship, Oetse Kempkers (Christchurch) and Joe Butterfield (Timaru) were the leading place-getters in the Sigrid event, and Dave Lloyd completed the Christchurch dean-sweep in the open division.

Shapland, Lloyd, Rountree and Wilkinson fashioned unbeaten records in the four races Entries [totalled more than 60, the number being affected by petrol restrictions which prevented creus from Southland and Nelson from competing.
