;PA ' Ashburton' A donation of $2OOO was given in Melbourne at the week-end in memory of the Ashburton baby, Joel Edmonds, who died last week aged eight months. The “Ashburton Guardian” newspaper was telephoned by a Melbourne man, Mr R. R. Galloway, who also called it six months ago on hearing qf the baby’s plight. His latest call brought : news of an annual financial appeal launched by the ’ Royal Melbourne Children’s ! Hospital, where Joel underwent his surgery. One couple, who are also ; believed to have met the Edmonds family in Australia, gave $2OOO in memory of Joel.
