‘Missing’ men safe
PA Auckland Two men whom the police believed were missing on the Manukau Harbour on Monday night were found safe and well at work yesterday ’morning. The police were about to begin an air and sea search for Messrs J. Henry, of Mangere, and T. Dawson, of Otara, both aged 30. They left Mangere Bridge in their four-metre runabout on Monday afternoon for Little Huia where they met. friends. But on the way back to their car their boat became stranded on the harbour’s hazardous sandbars. They beached their craft about 2 a.m. at Blockhouse and walked several miles to their homes. Friends who arrived at their parked car at Mangere found no sign of them and! informed the police soon; after 10 p.m.
