League awards
Christchurch players received most of the awards from the New Zealand Marist rugby league tournament which ended at the Show Grounds yesterday. The “player of the tournament'’ was Kevin Franklin, who played for Christchurch in the centres and in the forwards during the competition. The captain of the New Zealand Marist tournament team is Michael O’Donnell and the vicecaptain Mark Broadhurst.
