I In Charge earned a following for the Roxburgh Handicap, first leg of the Roxburgh Trotting Club's double after finishing a close second at Forburv Park on Saturday night. In Charge went under by half | a length to Klngsdown Cavalier after attempting to lead all the way over 2700 m. He is well situated to adopt front running tactics again today and could prove hard to peg back on the 1000 m circuit. Patinoir deserves favouritism for today’s race after wins in four of his six starts, including a last start success in the Wyndham Cup on March 7. He ran the 3200 m on that occasion in 4min 18.7 sec, and won by a length and a quarter from Ben Rodden after leading all the way. ■
Ben Rodden, which finished third on Saturday night, three lengths and a half from In Charge, meets Patinoir on 10m better terms than at Wyndham. Ben Rodden has been sparingly raced and might show improvement with his Forburv Park race. Selections:—
