New Zealand's Slazenger l Shield smallbore shooters: who competed in an interna-1 tional postal match at the; Burnett range yesterday re-! orded some excellent scores. Canterbury’s lan BallingerJ h’ree times an Olympic rep-, dropped only hree points from 40 shots over 50m to lead the way with 397. Ray Mitchell (Christ-j hutch) who won the Canterbury 50m championship on Friday, scored 396. one better than Rex Davies (Christchurch), who was leading a national team for the first time. and Leon Greibel (Blenheim), a member of the New Zealand team at the last world championships. A further four marksmen totalled 394 each and only five of the team of 20 failed to score 390 or better.
