Sex education
Sir,—Young people need to be taught sex in school with programmes carefully geared, bearing in mind that children are well advanced for their age. The present surge of sex indulgence, particularly on TV, is responsible for many adolescents unwittingly getting into trouble. Not all teachers have the ability to teach sex to children. The sanctity of sex is expressly taught in the Bible, and clearly reveals its potential pitfalls. It is said that we “cannot put an old head on young shoulders”; but God can. I would like to see the Bible placed alongside the issued dictionary in every school desk. — Yours, etc., A. DELHANTY. April 9, 1979.
