Ashby Bergh ahead 3.7 p.c.
Ashby Bergh and Co. Ltd, increased net profit 3.7 per cent in the six months to January 31 in spite of substantially higher tax. The unaudited net profit for the half-year was $170,630 against $164,500 in the previous corresponding period, and after an increase lin sales of 15.5 per cent to $4,650,000. With the stock valuation adjustment no longer available, tax was up from $90,300 to $139,600. A steady interim dividend of 7J per cent is payable on April 27, ex dividend on April 20.
