Bowls cup to Dixon
Tom Dixon and his South Brighton team of Graham Stanley, Peter Meier and Charlie Smith took one of the last major bowls tournaments of the season when it won the Wales Cup event last week-end. The tournament, staged by the Christchurch club, attracted 30 very strong teams and Dixon, who won five of his six games, was adjudged the winner on a points differential. The section place-getters, excluding the overall winner, were.—Section one: Stan Lawson (Christchurch) 1, Roy Bailey (Mount Pleasant) 2, Tony Thomas i South Brighton) 3.
