University Vacancies THE UNIVERSITY OF THE SOUTH PACIFIC LECTURER (PRELIMINARY/ FOUNDATION) IN GEOGRAPHY (Post 79/35) THE School of Social and Economic Development wishes to appoint a Lecturer in Geography to teach primarily at the PreUmlnary/Foundatlon ipre-degree) and Diploma levels. The position is available from July. 1979. Applicants should have a strong background in physical geography. They should also have a general background in the social sciences as they will be expected to work as a member of a team In a programme of internal (on-cam-pus) and extension teaching involving interdisciplinary courses. A good first degree and successful teaching experience and/or teaching qualifications are minimum requirements for the post, but it is desirable that appUcants should have a higher degree. Salary in accordance with qualifications and experience on the scale: F55945-F511,563. In addition, the University provides 15 p.c. gratuity, superannuation contribution, appointment aUowance, partly furnished accommodation at a maximum rental at present of 12J p.c. of salary; this is under review. Appointments will be for a contract period of three years and will be renewable by mutual agreement.
