“Ram” magazine
Sir. — I wish to register my utter disgust at the latest filth spewed on to the streets of our city on the thinly disguised pretext of helping some charity or other to the extent of a few cents for each copy, bought by the lovers of the lewd and bawdy porn which seems to obsess the minds of a large body of the students at the college. One would hope that no selfrespecting charitable body would want any of the dirt money from the sale of this rubbish and would refuse to accept it. If one remembers rightly, the Mayor of Christchurch promised that this would not be allowed to happen again, after last year’s publication which was bad enough. Would the Mayor kindly express, publicly, though the courtesy of the local press, his opinion
of this latest onslaught against what is clean and decent, and declare what he intends to do about it. — Yours, etc.,
E. EOIN STRINGER. April 6, 1979.
