Vacation work for students
Sir, — I would like to acknowledge through your columns the assistance given by the private sector to university students searching for employment during the recent Christmas vacation. On a percentage basis, Christchurch was able to provide more employment opportunities than was thought possible. I am much in debt to the business and commercial firms, the manufacturing groups, and the citizens of Christchurch for their continued and explicit support. — Yours, etc., A. J. STUART, President, University of Canterbury Students’ Association. April 7, 1979.
