M.P.s’ travel
Sir, — Your correspondent M. Creel (April 7) does himself little credit by directing a tirade of abuse toward Mr Muldoon. I am not one of the Prime Minister’s particular devotees. My purpose in respect of the Paraparaumu incident was to direct attention to the initiating party to the exchange. Having received their dues on that occasion, TV2 and those who support this sort of provocation, cannot expect to attract a sympathetic audience to a recital of “see what a nasty fellow he is,” phrases. And to join M. Creel in the “vital alterations” game, may I suggest the following to his wording, “Any conjecture on the response of a Soviet Prime Minister to such questioning by a Soviet TV interviewer founders on the impossibility of any interviewer considering it worth his skin to attempt to exercise the measure of democratic freedom enjoyed by, among others, your aforementioned correspondent.” — Yours, etc., D. A. CARTER. April 7, 1979.
