Sir, — I agree with F. J. Webster (April 5) who believes Miss Patricia Bartlett’s statement that television nudity should be con-

fined to programmes showing primitive native people smacks of racial bigotry. Although I do not support unnecessary nudity on television, it amazes me that anybody could regard the nude bodies of primitive natives as less offensive than the nude bodies of supposedly civilised Europeans. They are al! human bodies and I regard none of them as offensive, clothed or naked. And I am sure that doctors, nurses, and 95 percent of New Zealanders feel the same, as they are able to keep their minds “out of the gutter.” —yours, etc., R. BURNS. Lyttelton. April 6, 1979.
