Ferndale School hall, Meri-I [vale Lane, on April 26 at[ 7.30 p.m., said Mrs Legge. i | Several pre-school Montes-! isori education centres have! ■been set up in New Zealand for children up to six years] [old, and it. is hoped to esi tablish one in Christchurch. Mrs Legge said many people at the display had said they [ would like ' their children ■to attend such a centre. The Montessori method is claimed to allow children to develop at their own speed and to make learning enjoyable. Its Italian founder, Dr Maria Montessori, died in 1952.
