However, the two motions initiated by England’s captain Mike Brearley, and a former England player, Keith Fletcher, were comfortably passed. The first, restricting the i entry of W.S.C. players into 1
the county game in England, was passed by 130 votes to 83. The second, banning the recruitment of a Packer player released by another county, was passed by' 124 to 90. A third resolution, which urged ''amiable coexistence” with players contracted to W.S.C. went through fart more easily by 166 to 28. The Brearley-Fletcher proposals automatically become null and void when firm! agreement is announced be- i tween the International; Cricket Conference (1.C.C.) ind Packer. The association's chair-! man, David Brown, and the! secretary, Jack Bannister,! are encouraged by the pro-! gress being made towards a settlement.
