"he Royal Australian M vys training ship Jervis B y will call at Lyttelton at t’ • week-end on a visit to Canterbury. Members of the public may visit the ship between 2 Jjn. and 4 p.m. tomorrow, or watch the ship's Australian Rules football team play .’.gainst a Canterbury team at Wainoni Park tomorrow afternoon.
The crew will also play Royal New Zealand Air Force basketball and volleyball teams at Wigram tomorrow and a basketball match against DB Burnside at the Pioneer Stadium on Sundav.
Before the Jervis Bay sails; for Dunedin on Tuesday 30; local sea rangers and 70 sea’ cadets will visit the ship,'
and the commanding officer. Commander C. J. Littleton, will call on the Mayor of Lyttelton (Mr M. E. Foster) and the King Edward Barracks. The Jervis Bay's main role is to provide navigation training for young seamen officers from the Royal Australian Navy College and other countries.
