New maize starch plant

PA Auckland Savings of more than 52.5 M a year in overseas exchange were expected as a direct result of N.Z. Starch Products, Ltd, opening a new maize starch plant, the Prime Minister (Mr Muldoon) said when he opened the plant. The plant, at Onehunga, is designed to process 70 tonnes of maize every 24 hours. Mr Muldoon said the exchange savings would increase the value of import substitution by the company to $6.5M a year.
