Ellesmere favourite in sub-association cricket
Although Ashley leads the sub-association cricket competition for the Senior Challenge Shield, the remaining four teams all have a chance of winning the shield when the final round is played, on March 5. Ashley has drawn the bye in "the final round, so it will not be able to win any more points. This leaves the competition open —the eventual winner will be dependant on the results of all matches in the round. Ellesmere, which is six points behind Ashley, has the strongest; chance of winning the shield as it will play Malvern, the bottom team in the final round. If Ellesmere gains outright points <T2) it will take an unbeatable ■ lead. , However, if Ellesmere gains only first innings points (eight)
