Malvern K. Shipley followed his two unbeaten innings of the previous week with a forceful century for Greenfield against Hororata In the third series of senior Malvern matches on Saturday. Greendale, by winning on the first innings, took a one-point lead in the competition. Hororata batsmen presented G. Ridgen with four catches in the gully. The beneficiary in all cases was M. Adams, who finished with the best bowling analysis: six for 52. The right-arm pace of O. Stewart claimed five for 61 in the Kirwee innings, which was propped up by an aggressive century by G. Wright. Stewart’s innings of 44 did not save South Malvern, which was 31 behind on the first innings. The centuries were the first this season. Team points: Greendale 19, Sheffield IS, Kirwee 17, Darfield 11, Hororata 10, South Malvern Kirwee 106/7 dec. (G. Wright 102. A. Wall 42: O. Stewart 5/61) beat South Malvern 105 (O. Stewart 44, A. Ridgen 3/69). Peninsula With the last Le Bons batsman having to survive three balls, or score nine runs in that time, the side drew with Kaituna in the Peninsula competitions on Saturday. P. Johnston had a useful allround performance for Le Bons, but the best effort was by R. Lanauze for Kaituna. He took all of the last eight wickets to fall. Scores: —
Kaituna 168 (P. Dunbler 24, D. Turner 61, B. Beach '32; C. Grigg 2/47, P. Johnston 5/62. P. McKay 2/9) drew with Le Bons 160/9 (Johnston 46, C. McKay 58; R. Lanauze 8/33).. Little River 142 (L. Ellesmere A sudden collapse by Lincoln in the last half-bour left Leeston in a strong position in the Ellesmere competition on Saturday. Lincoln lost four wickets in that time and with four wickets only standing, is still 95 short of Leeston’s total. Irwell should win with ease in short time as Weedons are nearly 200 behind on the first innings, but a low-scoring game between Southbridge and Dunsandel is very open. Irwell’2s7/7 dec. (S. Fox 82, D. Mcßae 35, J. Lay 60 not out, D. Lili 50 not out. P. Chatterton 3/47), Weedons 66 (D. Mcßae 6/26, Lay 3/29). Leeston 260/8 dec. (B. Free 87, R. Taylor 81, M. Chamberlain 47; E.
