Opposition By Union The innovation of selfservice in hotels would be fought by the union to the end, said the assistant national secretary of the New Zealand Hotel Workers* Union (Mr L. Short) in Christchurch yesterday. He was commenting on a scheme for the new Southern Cross Hotel in Dunedin. Under the scheme selected patrons will each be given a key to a bar, which will not be staffed. They will pay for their drinks at a small till in the bar.
