J. Coughlan). Mr Coughlan said 175 entries had been received and the judges had selected six, three from each division, to be sent to Wellington for national judging. One especially imaginative entry had been written in the form of a short storyThe national winners, who will receive £2O for first prize, £lO for second and £5 for third, will be announced on August 12. There will be 14 consolation prizes, each of £2. The Canterbury division winners are: Division One (Forms one and two): Janet Joynt (Spreydon) 1; Flora Boyd (All Hallow School, Geraldine) 2; Roger Weavers (Our Lady of the Snows School, Methven) 3.
