Candidates Chosen
Mr E. G. Adcock, a company manager, for St Albans, and Mr T. K. Campbell, a railways employee, for Selwyn, are new candidates of the Labour Party for the General Election. The final selection of candidates for Christchurch seats was made when the national president (Mr N. V. Douglas, M.P.) and other national officers visited Christchurch. Mr B. G. Barclay, a farmer and member of the Lyttelton Harbour Board, will contest Fendalton, as he did three years ago; and Mr R. Tirikatene, a son of Sir Eurera Tirikatene, M.P., for Southern Maori, will contest Rangiora for a second time. The other candidates, all sitting members, are: Lyttelton, Mr N. E. Kirk, Leader of the Opposition; Avon, Mr J. Mathison; Christchurch Central, Mr R. M. Macfarllane; Sydenham, Miss M. B. I Howard; Riccarton, Mr M. A. i Connelly. Social Credit I Mr J. A. Bere, a joiner of i Kaiapoi, has been chosen as , the Social Credit candidate I for Rangiora. i
