Pedestrians Injured

Three pedestrians were injured in two accidents within a minute of each other in Christchurch last evening. Miss G. Fourika, of the Excelsior Hotel, and Miss J. Kalataki, of the New City Hotel, suffered head injuries when hit by a car outside 186 High street at 8.5 p.m. Miss Fourika was admitted to the Princess Margaret Hospital, where her condition was reported to be satisfactory. Miss Kalataki was discharged after treatment at the Christchurch Hospital. Mr W. H. Bentley, of 11 Moa place, suffered head injuries when hit by a car in the north-west corner of Cathedral square at 8.6 p.m. He was admitted to the Princess Margaret Hospital, where his condition was reported to be satisfactory. Airini Wright, aged 13, of 9 Whitehall street, suffered a broken leg and abrasions when her bicycle and a car collided in Briggs road near Hills road about 3.20 p.m.
