Captain To Play Again

Reports that the Lions captain, M. J. CampbellLamerton, might not be fit to play for the remainder of the tour because of a recurring ankle injury, were discounted by the manager, Mr D. J. O’Brien, yesterday. Mr O’Brien said that Campbell-Lamerton bad a chronic ankle injury which had been aggravated by a kick during the match at Westport. “It is news to me that he may be in doubt for the rest of the tour. As far as I am aware he will be considered for selection next week,” he said. Campbell-Lamerton endorsed the manager’s remarks when asked about his injury.
