Disqualified
(N.Z. Press Association! WANGANUI. A subcommittee of the Wanganui District Committee yesterday disqualified Leanee from the Tararua Hack Handicap, which the horse won at the Pahiatua Racing Club’s meeting at Awapuni on January 12. The disqualification was ordered under rule 103 (7) after the subcommittee had heard evidence and submissions concerning a report by an analyst to the Racing Conference that a urine sample taken from Leanee after the race had contained caffeine. No charges were brought before the subcommittee against either of the horse’s owners, and no charges have been preferred against the horse’s trainer.
