To Train At Pukekohe

“The Press'' Special Service AUCKLAND.

The successful reinsman, I. O. Thomas, who is returning to training, has bought the Pukekohe property used for several years by C. Hadfield. While there, Hadfield was the leading trainer for 195152. There is a half-mile track on the property, which covers 16 acres. Thomas will use it for slow work. Fast work will be done at the Franklin Trotting Club’s track, a quarter of a mile away. His first horses will be Yogi Berra and a rising four-year-old mare by Great Evander from Kewpie’s Gift, the dam of Early Wynn. Thomas was private trainer to Mr C, S. Williams, of Cambridge, until about five years ago. Previously he trained for Mr W. F. Woolley, of Lyttelton.
