Deputation Meets P.M. On Fertiliser

WELLINGTON, July 21.
Talks on proposals to establish a cooperative fertiliser company at Timaru were held today between the Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake), the Minister of Agriculture (Mr Taiboys) and a deputation from the fertiliser company.
Afterwards Mr Holyoake said that both sides had found the talks worth while. The fertiliser company was represented by Messrs D. Baker and D. Orbell. The Prime Minister said that arising out of the discussions, the Government
s would further explore the prol posal in the next two weeks by which time the chairman ; of the South Island Fertiliser . Company (Mr R. Kerr), would be back in New ZeaI land. Further talks might be ■ held then.
Mr Holyoake said that both parties were hopeful that the problems arising out of the proposal to establish the fertiliser company could be satisfactorily solved.
