Burglars Get £550 Haul
Burglars broke a skylight to enter a bulk store and steal 90,000 cigarettes and 401 b of tobacco, worth £550, on Wednesday night. All the other skylights in the store of the New Zealand Express Company, Ltd., on the corner of Moorhouse avenue and Manchester street, were fitted with iron bars, said the manager of the company (Mr C. Wallace) yesterday. He considered the burglars crossed several roofs to get to the skylight He thought at least two men had been involved. Cigarettes and chocolates, valued at £34 16s Bd, were stolen from a shop at 341 Madras street, which was enitered the same night.
