Grants from Golden Kiwi lottery profits totalling were announced today by the chairman of the recreation and youth activities distribution committee (Sir William Stevenson). The following are included among grants worth £3OO and above: — „ _ Immediate Grants —New Zealand Olympic and British Empire Games Association, £14.000. for sending team to 1960 Commonwealth Games. Conditional Grants.—Commonwealth and Empire Games Promotion (Canterbury) Inc., £lOOO for sending delegates to 1966 Games: Marlborough Squash, Rackets Club, Blenheim, £650, for building two courts and amenities; Moana Becreation |
and Youth Centre, Greymouth, £2OOO, for building community centre; New Zealand Amateur Roller Skating Association, £l5OO, for overseas tour; N.Z. Amateur Rowing Association, £2OOO, for overseas tour of United States and world championships; R.S.A., Greymouth, £lOOO, for constructing club rooms; Ross Centennial Committee, £lB5O, for building community centre; Rowallan Scout Group, Titnaru. £3OO. for building den: St. James' Spreydon Scout Group, Christchurch, £3OO tor building den: Wakefield Public Hall Association, Nelson, £B5O, for purchasing and renovating hall: Wairau Valley Parochial District Sundav School Hall. Blenheim, £3OO, for building hall: Woolston School Centennial swimming pool. Christchurch. £lOOO, for building pool. Conditional grants approved: Motueka United Rugby Football Club. £5OO, for building club rooms.
