Damage To U.S. Embassy (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) WARSAW, July 21. The Polish Foreign Office apologised to the United States yesterday for a destructive Vietnam demonstration, spearheaded by uniformed Polish troops, that smashed plate glass windows of the American Embassy. An Embassy official said that the American Ambassador, Mr J. A. Gronouski, delivered a very strong written protest to the Foreign Office, whose officials said they were [“sorry about the incident” and [that the Government would [pay for repairs. I Embassy administrators had not yet completed estimates of the damages, which included destruction of at least 20 big plate glass windows, ornamental lamps, display cases and cement-bordered flower beds.
