PRISONERS RETURNED

(N.Z. P. A.-Reuter—Copyright) SAIGON, July 21. Thirteen North Vietnamese prisoners of war, clad in their underclothes, returned to the Communist North yesterday to mark South Vietnam’s “national day of shame.” The prisoners were formally repatriated by the South Vietnamese Government on the twelfth anniversary of the signing of the Geneva agreements. They were stripped of their outer clothing just before they crossed the frontier. The group was originally 16 strong, but three prisoners decided to stay in the south after a personal appeal by Mr Dinh Trinh Chinh, secre-tary-general for the South Vietnam Premier, Nguyen Cao Ky.
