Vale Shield Results Nine teams took part in the annual competition for the Vale Shield on the Christchurch Gun Club’s grounds at Yaldhurst. The Amberley team of E. A. Elliott, I. Streeter, I. Whyte, I. Boyce and W. T. Morton, with a score of 64 out of 75. won the shield. The runner-up was the Christchurch No. 1 team on 62 and the Ellesmere No. 2 team finished third, on 61. The Ellesmere shooter. E. L. F. Donald, with the only possible of 15 won the Christchurch club’s sparrow clay championship held in conjunction with the teams’ event. C. W. Stott was the runner-up on the twenty-sixth target of a shoot-off among the eight competitors who had scored 14. C. Bisset won the B grade championship with 13.
