Salute To The Old

Sir,—When “Jenny” and those who, as she does, show kindness and respect for age, opening heavy doors in city buildings (and not letting them slam to hit those slow of movement or sight); when they aid in city road crossing made difficult by too speedy light-changing; when they show consideration and courtesy in shop and office service (not rushing past or turning rapidly to jar old bodies in unexpected rough contact); they are indeed valued daily, by those old people who must fend for themselves. Though old, they are endeavouring to be independent and to keep circulating.—Yours, etc., JENNY FAN. July 19, 1966.
