Sydenham Causes Surprise
SYDENHAM 23: B. McDonald three, R. Raistrick, B. T. Barron tries; A. Tuuta four goals. LINWOOD 16: W. J. Godfrey two, G. J. Abercrombie, J. Paston tries: G. J. Rosanowski two goals. A period of poor defence by Linwood just after half-time when it was leading 13-2 probably cost it the game. Sydenham hit back and scored two converted tries to wipe off the advantage that Linwood had won in the first half. The see-sawing nature of the scoring and the sudden switches of territorial advantage made the game attractive and exciting. It was father approfiriate that the Sydenham capaln, Barron, should be the player to score the final try and put the issue beyond doubt lust before time because it was his hooking and leadership that enabled Sydenham to come from behind to win. _ Apart from Barron, W.
