INWOOD IN GRAND FORM

BELFAST 17: K. Morgan a try; R. Inwood a conversion and four penalty goals. MARIST 8: K. Miles and 0. Stoj>forth tries; M'iiles a conversion.

Although Marist was more in the game than the score indicated, Belfast was a more competent side and deserved to win. The Bedfast captain, Inwood, set a grand example with his hard, driving play and speed to the loose balil; his excellent goal-kicking capped a fine display. Marist made too many mistakes for its own good and trailed, 14-0, at half-tiime. It recovered some lost ground in the second half, but the outstanding back, M'ides, did not receive sufficient opportunities to place a greater strain on Bedfast. Referee: Mr J. D. McKeown.
