Junior Golf

The raising of funds to encourage junior golf is the reason behind the holding of a golf ball in the Winter Garden next Tuesday night. The ball is being sponsored by the Canterbury Junior Golfing Society, but it is hoped that the support of all Canterbury clubs will be obtained for the very good purpose of providing money for coaching and tours for young golfers. In this connexion, it is proposed to institute an in-ter-island game next year for players in the 15 to 25 age group. Canterbury and Wellington started an interprovincial young people’s match last year for a salver donated by T. Brady, formerly professional at Miramar and now at the Grange course, in Auckland. Canterbury will defend the trophy this year in Wellington.
