Boys’ Brigade Appeal

Three Christchurch Boys’ Brigade Companies had contributed about £3OO towards the Boys’ Brigade appeal, said the Brigade’s publicity officer, Mr W. Bishop. The appeal was held from July 1 to 8. The companies were, the first Christchurch company associated with the Colombo street Baptist Church the second Christchurch company associated with the St. Martins Anglican Church, and the 33rd company associated with the Hoon Hay Presbyterian Church. Mr Bishop said only the first results of the appeal had been received, but the figures indicated a general increase in the contributions. Last year the national total for the appeal was £11,572. Of this, the Canterbury Battalion had contributed £1548, said Mr Bishop.
