PREJUDICIAL CONDUCT
Sentence Of Detention Private N. R. P. Webb, of the Ist Battalion Depot of the Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment, was sentenced to 180 days’ detention by a district court martial at Burnham Military Camp this week. He was charged with acting in a manner which prejudiced good order and military discipline. Private Webb attempted to remove the insignia of a non-commissioned officer. Private Webb was defended by a civil lawyer, Mr P. G. S. Penlington. He pleaded not guilty. Mr Penlington was assisted by Lieutenant A. D. Campbell. The prosecuting officer was Major G. S. Brockett (a territorial). His assistant was Lieutenant M. F. Dodson. The court comprised Major C. M. Douglas (president), Captain E. D. Gerard and Captain R. B. Richards. The judge-advocate was Major G. C. C. Sandston. The sentence of the court is subject to confirmation by the convening authority.
