GERRARD IN SEMI-FINAL
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) FRINTON. The New Zealander, L. A. Gerrard, reached the semifinals of the men's singles in the Essex tennis tournament yesterday, beating P. Hutchins (England), 6-4, 3-6, 6-4. At Hovlake, Cheshire, J. R. McDonald (New Zealand) was beaten, 6-4. 6-4, by M. J. Sangster (England) in the fifth round.
