ELECTION TODAY
Hornby Riding Electors in the Hornby riding of the Paparua county will choose today a successor to Mr R. J. Roberts, who. till his death, represented them on the county council. The four nominees for the seat are Mr D. S. Goulding. a hairdresser, Mr M. McConnell, a butcher, Mr T. B. Whelan, a teacher and Mrs J. E. Woodham, a housewife. Mr Goulding is the only nominee for the vacancy on the Hornby Licensing Trust, so that no election is required to fill that vacancy. Polling hours for the riding seat will be from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Polling booths will be at the Paparua County Council’s office, the Central Canterbury Electric Power Board s offices at Hornby, and the Sockburn, Hornby. Hornby South, and Gilberthorpe schools.
