Basketball Starts Early

The Canterbury Basketball Association has decided that, all games on July 23—the day when Canterbury plays the Lions—will be played in the morning. The first round will begin at 10 am., followed by the second at 10.45 am., the third at 11.30 a m., and the fourth at 12.15 p.m. The association also decided that the fourth, fifth and sixth grades of the annual junior tournament, postponed from the beginning of the season, would be played on August 13, and that the third grade would be played on August 20. There will be no competition games on August 6. the South Island tournament being held in Christchurch on that day. The Canterbury team will be taking part. A protest by Burnside C against not being allowed to field a player who had arrived late until half-time in its match against Sisepa C was upheld. The game will be replayed.
