VIETNAM ARMS

British Stand

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter —Copyright) LONDON, July 14. Mr Wilson said today that Britain could not put tags on British arms exports to Australia marked “not to be used In Vietnam.” He was answering a barrage of questions in the House of Commons on how he squared recent statements on the subject. Opposition members recalled that he had at one time said Britain was not supplying arms, directly or indirectly, to the Vietnam war. Yet shortly afterwards he had said there had never been any restriction or conditions on arms supplies to Australia. Mr Wilson: “We are not supplying them indirectly or directly to Vietnam, meaning that if arms are required specifically for use in Vietnam we do not supply them.”
