Mens Styling Service—l.W.S.
The International Wool Secretariat is to set up a new international styling, design and fabric service for the men’s wear trade all over the world.
The service will be headed by Mr Dennis Clive, who has been director of the Secretariat’s large United Kingdom branch for the last five years.
The new activity, which will be operated from the I.W.S.’s world headquarters in Wool House, London, aims at bringing te weavers, tailors, makers-up and retailers in main consumer markets the latest developments in everything to do with men’s wear.
This will include doth and garment design, and associated marketing and merchandising techniques.
Its establishment follows the success of the Secretariat’s international wool fashion office in Paris, which provides a similar service in the women’s wear field. Announcing the new service, Mr W. J. Vines, managing director of the 1.W.5., said:
“We are essentially an international organisation, operating in 22 national markets, and this will therefore be very much an international service.
“We want to help the development of new styles, fabric designs, technical improvements and even marketing methods in the men’s wear trade where wool, of course, has such a strong hold. This sevice will be intended particularly to support the growing number of woolmark licences around the world.
