Minister Not At Conference
(.Vew Zealand Press Association) INVERCARGILL, July 13. A little more effort could have been made by the Minister of Agriculture (Mr Taiboys) to attend the tenth annual conference of the Bulk Fertilisers’ Association in Invercargill, the association’s president (Mr G. Mearns) said todav.
“Ours is an important industry and I feel it should get a certain amount of consideration from the Minister,” said Mr Meams at the association’s annual conference. The conference was told it was the third time the Minister had been asked to attend a Bulk Fertilisers’ Association conference and the third time he had not attended.
Mr Taiboys was to have addressed the conference tomorrow.
The conference passed the following motion: “That this conference of the bulk fertiliser industry notes with concern and regret that the Minister of Agriculture, being himself not able to attend, has not seen fit to appoint a deputy.” The association will write to the Minister expressing its concern.
